Kanye West Is Executive Producing Teyana Taylor's New Album

January 31, 2018 by WIHH

It’s been a busy few weeks for G.O.O.D. Music filled with cryptic teasers, a new SoundCloud page, and the emergence of label affiliate Valee. Now, the exciting news keeps rolling in. Speaking with Oyster, Teyana Taylor revealed that her new album is finished and due out this year.

“The album is actually done, just waiting on some minor tweaks and whatever last minute switches or edits and a green light from Kanye and should be good to go,” said the singer, whose last record was 2014’s VII.

Though she lacks a massive solo catalog, Taylor has been a key part of the G.O.O.D. Music rotation, appearing on major tracks with Kanye West as well as the label’s Cruel Summer compilation. In the interview, Taylor touched on topics like her family and husband Iman Shumpert, and balancing her many different creative roles. She also said that West has had a hands-on role shaping her upcoming project, serving as its executive producer.

“Mr. West is EP-ing my entire album,” she said. “You guys will just have to wait and see what magic he’s created!”

Save for releases from Big Sean, Kacy Hill and Cyhi the Prynce, 2017 was quite for G.O.O.D., but they appear to be gearing up for a bounce back year. If all the rumors are to be believed it’s going to be an incredible year for Kanye as a producer. There’s a potential Kid Cudi reunion in the works, as well as Pusha T’s long awaited King Push, which he is said to have “mostly produced.” Cyhi even said in an interview that West was making beats for “every artist on the label.”
