Drake just refuses to go away.
On Monday (January 22), the Toronto hitmaker set the all-time record for the most-streamed song in a single day in the United States on Spotify, tallying 4,326,679 streams for “God’s Plan.”
Released this past Friday as part of a two-track “EP” entitled Scary Hours, the Young Exclusive, Cardo and Boi-1da-produced record has so far racked up 9,772,004 streams and counting worldwide.
For Drake, breaking Spotify records is somewhat old news. Last spring, the OVO head honcho’s More Life project playlist set the record for most first-day streams (for an album), generating a mind-blowing 61,302,082 plays on March 19.
The current record holder for most same-day streams worldwide is Taylor Swift, who set the mark this past fall when her “Look What You Made Me Do” single was streamed more than 8 million times across the globe.
