Wale has been rather quiet on social media since releasing his fifth studio album Shine last April, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been working on new music.
On Friday, the DMV veteran not only gave fans a sneak peek into his latest studio session but also revealed that he’s working on new music with J. Cole.
Wale and J. Cole are not musical strangers (“The Pessimist,” “Beautiful Bless”)—in fact, they have been close friends for eight years—but their last musical interaction wasn’t exactly collaborative in nature. In December 2016, Cole subbed Wale on his 4 Your Eyez Only loosie “False Prophets,” which prompted a response from Wale in the form of “Groundhog Day.”
Thirteen months later, however, all seems well on the hip-hop front, with “new vibes” being created for our listening pleasure.
The only question that remains is: Will Miguel be joining them?
